Family operated, with Shirley at the helm, the Vancouver Island Baby Fair is the most exciting event in British Columbia dedicated to pregnancy, birth, babies, toddlers, parents and grandparents too! Providing an unparalleled marketing opportunity for businesses and organizations geared to pregnancy through preschool, we aim to create a fun, educational and family-friendly experience.

What inspired you to become a Mom Entrepreneur?
Pregnancy was a time when my creativity and entrepreneurial spirit was stirred up. My desire was to find a way to work from home to be closer to my kids. With a background in event planning, sales & management, as well as the perinatal field, I combined my passion, experience and skills together to create Laughing Belly Productions, the production company of the Vancouver Island Baby Fair.

What will the $15,500 grand prize of cash and business advisory services allow your business to do?
Laughing Belly Productions is a small home-based business that creates events which support many other small home-based businesses and community organizations while providing good resources & shopping. The prize will allow me to boost the marketing campaigns of my events which in turn benefits my exhibitors. Improving my productivity would be incredibly valuable to saving time and money and the mentorship would be absolutely priceless!
